EMPOWER Broadband is excited to announce that it has surpassed 7,500 subscribers across its residential and business services, marking a significant milestone. This achievement reflects the telecommunications provider’s commitment to bring world-class, high-speed broadband service to previously unserved and underserved communities.

EMPOWER’s fiber network currently includes over 2,900 miles of fiber and passes by 23,443 locations within open-now zones.
Areas with the heaviest subscriber counts are central Mecklenburg County, including Baskerville, Palmer Springs and Clarksville, and southeast Mecklenburg County, including Bracey, southern Brunswick County south of the Hwy. 58 corridor, northern and southeastern Halifax County, southern Charlotte County and portions of Pittsylvania and Greensville counties. As of press time, there were over 700 customer applications awaiting the final stages of construction for home installation.
EMPOWER, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative, is collaborating with multiple contractors who are working in all phases of the project to build the fiber network.
